Sand Dunes nestled directly behind the township of Lancelin, the sand dunes are the largest in the state containing absolutely nothing but pure white sand and no vegetation. They are around 2 kilometres long and provide the perfect spot for sandboarding. A spectacular sight at sunrise or sunset. It is 127 kilometres north of Perth.
Lancelin is situated on the west coast of the Experience Perth tourist region. Lancelin faces west to the Indian Ocean and the local beaches are is protected by several small islands. Massive sandhills surround the town on a remote stretch of coastline just north of Perth. One of the best ways to get to Lancelin is with Integrity Coach Lines or to hire a car from Perth Airport.

Sand boarding is popular at Lancelin and is great fun, and unique to experience it too, you can hire a board or buy a board, just remember to bring candle wax which you will need for waxing the sand board, this will help it slide on the sand. We are hire it from the town, required to return after the play.
You can sand board anywhere within the sand dunes, which means you can have fun exploring in your 4wd and choose which ever sand dune you wish to conquer, wherever it be an easy beginner’s dune or an extreme steep dune. Just make sure yourself and your companions keep an eye out for other off roaders within the area.
There is a dedicated area for sand boarding only, which can be accessed by 2wd, close to the entrance of the off road area, it is well signed.
